SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Salt Lake police are investigating the death of a man found shot inside a crashed car.

Authorities received a report of gunshots around 7:30 a.m. Sunday in the area of 300 South 550 West.

Lt. Mike Ross says that a call about a hit-and-run was made shortly after.

Officers on the scene found a passenger vehicle rolled over and a 30-year-old man inside.

They determined the man had been shot.

The 30-year-old victim was rushed to a hospital where he died from his injuries.

According to witnesses, the car was involved in an altercation with another vehicle when it flipped over.

Ross says police have not yet determined if the shooting happened before or after the rollover.

The occupants of the second vehicle were found and are being questioned.
