CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) — A metal pole went through the windshield of a minivan that crashed through a fence in South Florida and narrowly missed hitting a 4-year-old girl sitting in a car seat.

In a Facebook posting, the Coral Springs Fire Department called Monday's incident the "close call" of the year, adding that the pole was "inches away from striking the child sitting in the safety seat."

Driver Besayda Sosa tells WPLG (http://bit.ly/2aHbO5q ) she "doesn't even want to think about" how close the pole came to hitting her daughter Khloe.

Pictures taken by fire rescue officials show that the pole went through the windshield and the passenger seat headrest, ending up just to the left of the child's head.

Hours later Khloe boasted to the TV station that she didn't even cry.
