ANKENY, Iowa (AP) — An Ankeny High School teacher has been arrested, accused of having a sexual relationship with a student who recently graduated.
Ankeny police say officers discovered 27-year-old Amanda Caye Dreier and the former student in a car together last month. Police say an investigation turned up an ongoing sexual relationship between the two.
Dreier, an English teacher, has been charged with sexual exploitation by a school employee. State law prohibits relationships by employees with students through 30 days following graduation.
Dreier turned herself in to police on Friday.
