LAS VEGAS (AP) — One person is dead after a large fire at a Las Vegas apartment complex.

Clark County fire officials said in a statement Monday that the fire struck the first floor of the apartment building. The flames were reported at about 11:30 a.m. on Monday.

Crews got the fire under control about five minutes after they entered the building.

Authorities say the fire did not spread to the rest of the two-story apartment complex, and no other injuries have been reported.

Authorities are investigating what caused the fire.

Firefighters did not immediately release the name of the person killed or exactly how they died.
