CLINTON, Miss. (AP) — The leader of the Mississippi Baptist Convention will keynote Mississippi College's commencement Saturday.

Jim Futral has been the executive director and treasurer of the convention board of the state's largest religious group since 1998.

Mississippi College awarded Futral an honorary doctorate in 2014. Before he became the convention's leader, he was a pastor at multiple Mississippi churches.

More than 700 students will graduate this spring from Mississippi College and its law school.

Futral will speak at the undergraduate commencement Saturday at the college's A.E. Wood Coliseum.

Nursing and graduate students will get diplomas Friday, while law students will graduate May 13.
