LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities have identified a 62-year-old bicyclist killed in a weekend crash with car on a Las Vegas street as William James McCarley.

The Clark County coroner said Monday that McCarley was from Las Vegas.

His family tells KTNV-TV (http://bit.ly/1yVMr7w ) McCarley was a union member and stagehand for 35 years, and that he had four children and several grandchildren.

Police had said McCarley was from Henderson.

Investigators reported he was riding a mountain bike about 8:30 a.m. Sunday when he veered from the right to the left lanes of Lamb Boulevard and hit the side of a 2008 Dodge Challenger driven by 74-year-old Philip Henry of Ely.

McCarley was thrown from the bicycle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Henry wasn't injured.
