RENO, Nev. (AP) — Three students have been arrested on suspicion of vandalizing a Reno elementary school over the Thanksgiving weekend.

They're accused of painting profanities on walls and windows at Jessie Beck Elementary, causing extensive damage to the school's mural and throwing eggs at the building.

Washoe County School District officials say crews were able to paint over the graffiti before students returned to class on Dec. 1 and the cleanup cost $5,000.

The suspects face felony charges of causing damage to school property because of the dollar amount of the damage.

Their names will not be released because of their juvenile status.

District officials say the suspects are Washoe County students who do not attend Jessie Beck. The school or schools they attend were not identified.
