$2,500 reward in probe of gang-related killing of Reno man

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Authorities investigating the killing of an 18-year-old Reno man are offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of suspects in the gang-related shooting.

Reno police say Juan Jose Rameriz died from injuries he suffered in the shooting about 5 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of Manhattan Street in North Reno.

Police an argument between two groups of people escalated and parties from both sides produced weapons.

One subject fired several shots that struck Rameriz.

Police say several unknown males then left the scene, some of them in an older white four-door passenger car.

Reno police are asking for anyone with information to call them at 775-334-2115, or Secret Witness at 775-322-4900.
