OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — An administrator at the University of Central Oklahoma has been named an honorary consul by South Korea.

Dennis Dunham will represent South Korea in an official capacity as the Honorary Consul to Oklahoma, helping to build relationships between the country and the state. He is the executive director of the Office of Global Affairs at UCO,

South Korean Consulate General Park Suk-Bum in Houston nominated Dunham. The U.S. State Department confirmed the appointment this month.

Dunham spent two years in Korea with the Peace Corps. And he worked closely with the ambassador in getting approval to establish UCO's first international liaison office in Seoul, Korea.

Students from South Korea now represent the third largest international group at UCO, and South Korea is the top destination for UCO students studying abroad.
