ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Annapolis Police say a 17-year-old girl was shot in the face in a field behind a boathouse on the campus of St. John's College.
Police Cpl. Jon Supko tells The Capital of Annapolis that the shooting occurred about 12:15 a.m. Sunday behind the Hodson Boathouse, which was being rented out for a private party. Supko says the girl was shot in the upper jaw area.
She was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore in stable condition, Supko says. Police tell WMAR-TV that the girl is not a student at the college.
According to its website, St. John's College was founded in Annapolis in 1696 as King William's School. The liberal arts college has about 450 students at each of its campuses in Annapolis and Santa Fe, New Mexico.
