SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — The University of Washington plans to lease the former Spokane Visitor Information Center in the city's University District.
UW spokesman Norm Arkans says it would support alumni activity, student admissions and the proposed expansion of its medical school program in Spokane.
The Spokesman-Review reports (http://bit.ly/1zlTiIS) a committee is recommending the UW lease over competing bids for the property from a credit union and restaurant.
The City Council may vote Nov. 3.
