LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities have identified a 25-year-old man who died after being shot over the weekend in a backyard northeast of downtown Las Vegas.

Clark County coroner's officials say Las Vegas resident Launde Lawrence White died of a gunshot wound to the head and chest in a shooting early Sunday on Kolanut Lane. That's near the intersection of Pecos Road and Owens Avenue.

Investigators say White was at the home when a male suspect walked into the yard and started talking with him. The conversation turned into a physical fight before the suspect pulled a gun and shot White several times.

He died at the scene.

The suspect fled the area on foot. Police haven't announced any arrests in the case.
