ATHENS, Ala. (AP) — A prosecutor says an Alabama man accused of stabbing his cousin to death over borrowed movies is citing the state's "stand your ground" law in asking that the case be dismissed.
Kenny Dewayne Adams is set to stand trial Monday on a murder charge in the killing of Yancey Metz Foster in Foster's mobile home west of Athens, Alabama, on New Year's Eve in 2012. Prosecutors have said Adams was intent on retrieving two DVDs — "The Fast and the Furious," and "2 Fast and 2 Furious" — he had loaned to his cousin.
Limestone County District Attorney Brian Jones tells Al.com (http://bit.ly/1p1Imo9) that Adams' attorney filed court papers seeking that the case be dropped, citing the state's "stand your ground" law.
A judge was expected to hear arguments on the motion to dismiss Friday.
