SEARCY, Ark. (AP) — Harding University is getting a new registrar.

Provost Larry Long on Tuesday named Tod Martin of York, Nebraska, as registrar, effective in August.

Martin replaces Janice Hurd, who is retiring from the position after serving as registrar for eight years.

Martin comes to Harding from York College after seven years as the school's registrar. He was also an assistant professor in York's business program and taught classes in management and marketing.

A 1984 alumnus of the University, Martin graduated with a bachelor of business administration degree in marketing and an MBA from University of Central Arkansas in 1989.
