RUPERT, Idaho (AP) — A southcentral Idaho health services facility is receiving $1 million from the federal government to build a bigger clinic in Rupert.
The Times-News reports (http://bit.ly/24yEzqe ) the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services grant was announced Wednesday. Family Health Services will use the money for a new building in Rupert to make room for more doctors as well as space to start offering dental care.
The federal grant is part of $260 million given out nationwide through the Affordable Care Act's Community Health Center Fund. The only other recipient in Idaho is Upper Valley Community Health Services, which has been awarded $680,000 for a clinic in St. Anthony.
Family Health Services CEO Aaron Houston says the money is "much needed" and will help bring additional providers to the Rupert community.
