SALT LAKE CITY — University of Utah starting quarterback Travis Wilson was cited Friday night for possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor while attending a Tim McGraw concert at USANA Amphitheater.
Wilson, who will turn 21 in December, was cited into the West Valley Justice Court and released at the scene, according to a statement from the Department of Public Safety and Utah Highway Patrol.
"We are still in the process of gathering information on the incident," head coach Kyle Whittingham said. "Once we have all the facts, we will handle the situation internally and determine any disciplinary action that should be taken."
Possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor is a Class B misdemeanor under state law. If convicted, the maximum punishment for a Class B misdemeanor is six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
