higher production costs --> higher transport costs --> higher prices for everything. But I guess as long as the oil executives can still afford groceries, everything will be fine. Oh, and thanks Senator Hatch for standing behind these guys, since you know how hard it is to be in the oil industry.
The Pony Express takes so long to get the news here from there... :)
And are you going to maintain that same position when you require health care? Or will my facility be required to give it to you, regardless of whether or not you exercised your right to have health insurance? Fine - like with auto insurance, if you don't have it, you don't drive. Maybe the rule should be if you choose not to have health insurance, don't come seeking medical help regardless of how bad it gets. (By the way, I don't really feel that way, but the bottom line that keeps getting missed is since it appears that health care has become a right, entitlement, privilege - whatever - the fact that someone somewhere has to pay or the health care facilities will not be able to continue.)
Our government absolutely falls under this same category. Orrin Hatch does not represent me. He takes money from the tobacco industry and supports their legislation when the time comes - not my voice as his constituent. Same argument for oil companies, banks, insurance companies - you name it. He loves his money, his junkets, and all the other "little" things that come with being a "representative" for the state of Utah. Yes, I know that government is not the best solution for everything, but if so many people are so generous, why isn't United Way (or some other charitable organization) helping everyone with their medical costs? Why are hospitals having to forcibly give charitable service when someone comes through their doors who cannot pay? I donate to charities as well, but the amount I am able to give even coupled with the money given by others is not enough to offset the costs incurred by those who, regardless of the reason, don't pay.
