BYU will be one and out in the NCAA tourney this year as well. They are so overrated it amazes me!
Just call it what you think of it: "STATE SIN STORE" !!!
The Big East has New York City as it's anchor TV market due to Syracuse and Rutgers Universities being in close proximity. The ACC stole a number of their markets like Boston and Miami a few years ago, but due to NYC, the Big East remains the BCS adored stepchild league. While the MWC has Utah, BYU & TCU they lag behind since Salt Lake City is their largest most dominated market (San Diego, Dallas & Denver all have PAC-10 & Big-XII schools that dominate those markets). But now if the PAC-10 or Big-XII have to expand or take a replacement school, both Utah and BYU top the list since Salt Lake City is now the largest TV market (#31, Las Vegas is #44) untapped by the BCS...so where will this leave smaller less academically accomplished smaller schools like Boise State that overacheive in football but are stuck ina very small insignificant TV Market (Boise ranks #112). Or better yet where does this leave schools like Utah State that have struggled to get into a mid-major league as a bottom-feeder "punching-bag" school in football?
As a Cougar fan, coach Lamb is more of a liability, and for the sake of the team I hope he is offered an early retirement just as his predecessor Dick Felt was. Both Barry Lamb and Dick Felt (not to mention Norm Chow) are the big reason of why BYU has underachieved more seasons than not by virtue of trying to stay in one place for too long when moving on after 4-5 years is the nature of the job for position assistants. Just too predictable.
Public Education takes more of the state budget each and every year than any other bucket of state spending (including transportation, corrections, public safety etc...). I'm however sick and tired of the UEA throwing the ultimate tantrum each year for more $$$ and then seeing local district boards merely decide to fund more administrator positions rather than reduce class sizes, pay teachers more or purchase new textbooks. Perhaps this is a year for the states 41 districts to try and do more with less $$$.
Saturday is the best day administratively to not deliver mail to homes. People who require more than M-F mail should just get a P.O. Box where the clerks can get them their mail 7 days aweek by 10:00am local time. The letter carriers are just to expensive a craft for USPS to have enough of for 6 day delivery to residences. Carriers have to double up on routes to cover the day off for others resulting in OT pay that costs USPS far and away beyond what a .44 cent stamp covers per 1 ounce letter.
