I work for a company that has fired people for calling in sick. Even when they have chronic illnesses and end up in the hospital for a week at least once a month. Even with dr's notes you're not safe. The management sucks. They even try to tell you that "you're health is more important to us, get better" but yet their actions say otherwise. I'm glad I'm on maternity leave and won't have to deal with them until January. If you are truly sick, stay home. If you're not, don't take your job for granted. There are many out there who would gladly take your job. Why risk it?
Or its linked directly in the story.
ditto to the bringing them in stores. Even when there's signs that clearly state "NO PETS!!" (except service animals of course)
agreed kchap. Having lost both myself there is no comparison between a child and an animal. With an animal you 'get over' it much quicker, with a child it can take years to 'get over' and even then you never fully do. I lost my favorite dog a few years ago, but I got over it. I lost my daughter in the womb almost a year ago and still have a very hard time, and know I will for a long time. alfoster- I am sorry for your loss, I know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet. However, there is a huge difference between a pet and a child. As your comment states you lost a sibling, not a child, and even in those there is a huge difference. IF bandit was hit by a car, it is possible the person didn't even know they had hit him. So how can a person who has no idea what happened get the 'guts' to tell you guys about it? Again, I am sorry for your loss, but plastering Bandit all over the media is not a good way to honor his memory.
hobos are nasty creatures. I just recently got bit again, this time it wasn't as nasty as the last one I had. They have all started out as either a mosquito bite or a zit, then it gets bigger and looks like a bruise around the outside. Meanwhile the center of the bite starts going black. It can be that way for weeks. If it starts spreading more than a nickle, then go and receive treatment. I had one on my thigh that was there for months, now it's just a scar. I've been around hobos my entire life, the only thing that works, other than having a professional spray, are the glue traps.
