Arion T.,
Are you aware that Liberal in the sense that the term has been used in this entire thread (until your comment) was referencing the Liberal/Conservative Political Philosophy Dicotomy? Generally speaking people who are classified as one or the other will agree commonly with their own group and so it is appropriate to label in such a manner so as to not neccessitate long explanations everytime.
Think of it like saying "white" or "black" to reference racial categories, very few, if any, people are actually purely "white" or "black" in either color or genetic makeup, but to classify someone as such you don't need long explanations as to their appearance.
Agoraphobic Kleptomaniac,
Did you miss sixth grade? You reference it but with a severly twisted definition of theory. The definition of theory IS guess:
1. speculation: abstract thought or contemplation
2. idea formed by speculation: an idea of or belief about something arrived at through speculation or conjecture She believed in the theory that you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.
3. hypothetical circumstances: a set of circumstances or principles that is hypothetical. IE That's the theory, but it may not work out in practice.
I see a common theme: Speculation and Hypothetical, those too are big words for guess.

Wake-up-and-smell-the-coffee, you just pop up everywhere and try to mock the LDS church don't you? There are a few out there who just are so bitter for one reason or another it is rare to find a whole thread that you don't put something on there to lambast the LDS church. Why can't you leave them alone...Is this one of those Freudian Complexes?
If this is an attempt to convert, you might get some simply by scattering their flock and hoping a few wonder you way, but it would be more effective to just teach them the principles you follow and hope that they come to see it your way. Unless this really is one of those Freudian things...
Buffalo Girl,
If tax protesting is selfish and delusional, then our country was founded by selfish and delusional people. I don't personally tax protest (for other reasons), but I do see their logic as being sound.
I think I would classify the Boston Tea Party as a tax protest and the resulting Boston Massacre as one of the first blood spilt in founding our great country.
This is response to the whole thread...Income taxes were not constitutional originally and may not be constitutional if some claims are true that the Amendment allowing them was not ratified properly. The income tax may or may not be legal, the proponents lied to get it through (it was said that only the top 1% of wage earners would ever pay and even then with a less than 1% tax...HA look at it now) and an oppressive income tax was a key in Carl Marx's Communist Manifesto to getting socialism started in free countries.
Not all voters pay taxes. Many people are retired or living on welfare and receive vastly more money than they pay out. I know some people who have never paid more into the system than they have taken out. It is sad, but true.
As far as not paying our taxes just because our government has run amok...? I for one am choosing to err on the side of paying, but I am actively campaigning for a cut in wasteful spending from all levels of government.
