NORTH SALT LAKE — A 14-vehicle crash closed as much as four lanes of southbound I-15 Friday afternoon, Utah Highway Patrol said.
The crash occurred just before 2 p.m. near the Salt Lake-Davis County border, Utah Department of Transportation officials said. The crash initially closed four lanes, but a lane was reopened around 2:30 p.m. and another was opened at about 2:50 p.m. The rest of the lanes reopened after 4 p.m.
Traffic cameras in the area showed congested freeway as vehicles attempt to pass through the scene. The roads appeared to be slick.
Police said there were minor injuries but did not give any details on what caused the crash, other than to say 14 vehicles were involved.
At about 2:30 p.m., three other minor crashes were reported southbound I-15 within five miles of the initial crash but UDOT officials did not say if those crashes were related.
