STREAMING TOWN — We love to give our readers lists about what you should be watching on Netflix because so many people subscribe to the streaming giant that it makes sense to let you know what movies are worth a watch on the platform.

Howver, because we spend so much time telling you about Netflix, we’ve kind of ignored the other streaming services. But Hulu has stepped up its movie game pretty significantly and we decided it’s time to give you a list of recommendations to watch on Hulu.

A lot of us subscribe to Hulu for the awesome TV selection, but I’m here to let you know that there are some fantastic movies on there as well that are well worth your time.

Here are just a few:

“13 Hours”

Michael Bay isn’t exactly my favorite filmmaker. In fact, it’s a rare occasion that I really like one of his films, but he brought his A game with “13 Hours.”

The film tells the true story of an attack on a U.S. compound in Libya and the security force that tried to keep everyone safe.

The movie is intense and unrelenting and deserved its R rating for its realistic portrayal of violence and chaos. It’s a white-knuckle affair throughout with solid performances from John Krasinski and James Badge Dale.

There is just something special about hanging out with the family and sitting down and watching a movie. This can be tricky, however, because sometimes we pick a movie that’s a little too grown up for some of the kids and others that induce a coma in many parents.

“Interstellar”

While Michael Bay isn’t one of my favorite filmmakers, I can tell you that Christopher Nolan is perhaps my favorite. The man knows how to make a smart and entertaining movie and “Interstellar” fits that mold.

Nolan’s sci-fi epic wasn’t as well received as his Batman films or “Inception,” but it’s still a beautifully shot movie that is a visual stunner. If you decided to jump down the wormhole of “Interstellar,” be warned that it is a movie that requires your attention and will take nearly three hours to watch.

“Hunt for the Wilderpeople”

Personally, I thought 2016 was a really great year for movies. Some great films like “Hell or High Water,” “Arrival,” “Manchester by the Sea,” and “Hacksaw Ridge” all released in 2016. But I truly believe one of the best films of the year was “Hunt for the Wilderpeople.”

Not nearly enough people have seen or even heard of this movie and that’s why I’m so happy it’s streaming on Hulu. This movie is actually the reason I wanted to write this list.

“Hunt for the Wilderpeople” is a hilarious and poignant movie about love, loss, friendship and acceptance that will have you laughing the whole way through. I cannot say enough about this movie or recommend it more. It is a clever coming of age story with some great lessons and even better performances.

I challenge you to watch the movie and not find yourself singing the “Ricky Baker Birthday Song.”

“Iron Man”

I have made it very public that I’m not a huge fan of the Marvel cinematic universe. Some of the films I think are fun and others I think are downright awful. But one thing I can say is I love “Iron Man.”

In 2008, this movie kicked off this whole Marvel madness, for better or worse, and I still think it’s the best Marvel movie to date. This is a film I can watch over and over again, which is perfect because it’s now streaming on Hulu and I can watch it whenever I’d like.

“Creed”

When the movie “Creed” was announced, I wasn’t sure how I felt. There are some fine Rocky films and some really bad ones, but it felt like that train had already passed the station and wasn’t coming back. How wrong I was.

“Creed” proved a big comeback for the Italian Stallion’s story and one I could get behind. At times, the movie is predictable and basically a rehash of the original “Rocky,” but I didn’t care because I really enjoyed it.

Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone are both fantastic and director Ryan Coogler gave us some of the best boxing scenes I’ve seen in a very long time.

“Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation”

The last few Mission: Impossible films have been fantastic and “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation" kept that streak alive. It seems Ethan Hunt keeps getting himself in these situations, but it’s really for our benefit because we get to keep watching.

“Rogue Nation” is a smart spy thriller with plenty of action, gadgets and twists to make it one of the best Mission: Impossible movies to date.

“Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” and “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade”

Let me start off by telling you that “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” is also streaming, but I cannot in good conscience recommend that movie.

What I can recommend, however, is the first three Indiana Jones films and you can find them all on Hulu.

The charismatic archeologist will make any family night, or date night for that matter, a little bit better. Some of the special effects from these films are certainly dated, but that does not change the fact they are some of the most entertaining movies ever made.

If you ignore everything else on this list, which you most certainly should not, just be happy that these three Indiana Jones movies are at your streaming fingertips.
