PANGUITCH, Garfield County — A man wanted in connection with a Colorado murder case was arrested Friday morning following a high-speed chase, police said.
David Carlos Craine, 27, was arrested and taken to the Garfield County Jail, Garfield County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Cheryl Church said. A second individual, identified as Lindsy Michelle Petschauer, was also taken to jail.
At approximately 10 a.m. Friday, a Piute County deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding at 104 mph. Police said the vehicle failed to stop and a high-speed chase proceeded.
Church said the vehicle fled into Garfield County where officers from the Division of Wildlife Resources, Utah Highway Patrol and Garfield County Sheriff’s Office were able to use spike strips to deflate the vehicle’s tires. The vehicle continued traveling on its rims until the driver lost control a short distance from Panguitch, Church said.
Police said Craine and Petschauer exited the vehicle and a short foot chase followed. Both were apprehended and taken to jail.
Craine is the suspect in the murder of a 36-year-old man in Englewood, Colorado, on Dec. 29. The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for Craine’s arrest on Dec. 31.
