CEDAR CITY — Jadrian Clark hurled a 60-yard touchdown pass to Darryl Denby with 31 seconds remaining as Weber State scored 23 unanswered points to rally past Southern Utah, 37-36 Saturday night to remain undefeated in Big Sky Conference play.

Clark threw for 436 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 30 more yards to lead the Wildcats, who opened the final period down 36-14 after Raysean Pringle’s 36-yard rushing score to end the third quarter.

Haimi Moimoi hauled in five passes for 126 yards, and Denby had 90 yards and a touchdown to lead Weber State (5-2, 4-0 Big Sky).

SUU quarterback Tyler Patrick threw for 239 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for 43 yards and two more scores, to pace the Thunderbirds (3-4, 2-3 Big Sky) to a 23-6 halftime lead after Mike Sharp’s 55-yard TD catch.

But the Wildcats refused to quit. Stefan Cantrell started the rally with a 10-yard touchdown run with 7:15 left in the game, and Weber State forced a safety just over a minute later.

Clark hit Andrew Vollert with an 11-yard strike with 2:21 left to pull the Wildcats within six, and the defense added another stop to set up the winning strike to Denby.

Weber State travels to North Dakota next Saturday, Oct. 29, while Southern Utah is at Idaho State.
