Prep football: visiting Alta tops Skyridge in critical Region 7 tilt

LEHI — Will Dana threw his fourth touchdown pass with 40 seconds remaining to help visiting Alta rally for a 59-56 win over Skyridge in a crucial Region 7 matchup Thursday night.

Dana found Zach Engstrom for a 22-yard score in the final minute to give Alta (7-0, 4-0 Region 7) the win after Skyridge (5-2, 3-1) rallied from a 31-14 halftime deficit.

Josh Davis ran for four touchdowns for Alta, which led 21-7 after the first quarter that included a 70-yard TD by Davis.

Cody Frampton scored three scoring strikes to lead the Falcons, including a 23-yard toss to Wyatt Parkinson to give Skyridge a 56-52 lead in the final quarter.

Timpview 55, Timpanogos 7 — At Timpanogos, Herrod Niles and Braxton Whitney reached scored on a pick-six as the Thunderbirds held the Timberwolves scoreless until the final period to keep pace with Alta in Region 7.

Alexa Te’o and Jake Biggs each rushed for two touchdowns for Timpview (6-1, 3-1).

Provo 25, Orem 13 — At Orem, Tavita Ika scored on a 75-yard kick return to help the Bulldogs pull away from the Tigers.

Spencer Jorgensen threw a 22-yard TD pas to Ty Jones and added a 1-yard keeper for for Provo (4-3, 2-2).

Corner Canyon 56, Mountain View 12 — At Corner Canyon, Zach Wilson threw three touchdown passes to Colton Lawson to help the Chargers rout Mountain View in a Region 7 contest.

Tai Gonzales added a pair of scoring runs for Corner Canyon (4-3, 2-2), which led 49-6 after three quarters.
