SALT LAKE CITY — Remember when it felt like the whole state was on fire a couple weeks ago? Well now, the burning has been replaced by flooding.

Various parts of the state received major rainstorms resulting in flooding this past week. Some Santaquin streets were flooded, and residents sent in photos of the rain damage and large hailstones during the intense storm.

On Wednesday, Aug. 10, flash flooding was reported in Zion National Park and near Mount Carmel, according to the National Weather Service. Park officials reported that all of the roads in Zion National Park were temporarily closed due to the extreme weather.

Several streets in Springdale were also flooded, and residents submitted some crazy photos of a car almost fully submerged in the water.

Others sent in photos of intense lightning storms around the state as well, which resulted in some incredible pictures.
