Rings mean different things for different people. For some, a ring is symbolic of a vow or commitment; for others, it’s nothing more than a fashion choice.

Every now and then, a ring with unique bling surfaces —in this case, something that makes it extremely memorable. Here are seven instances from pop culture where the rings are worth remembering.

'Lord of the Rings'

An obvious choice to start the list, after all, you didn’t watch six movies (including "The Hobbit") to let arguably the most famous ring of them all slip from your memory.

J.R.R. Tolkien managed to create one of the most powerful and compelling stories ever told about a simple piece of jewelry. “One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, one ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.”

'The Green Lantern'

The Power Ring in "The Green Lantern" is something almost anyone could dream of owning — minus the responsibility, of course. Worn only by members of Green Lantern Corps, the ring requires willpower to work and enables its owner to do miraculous things such as interstellar flight, translate any language and create green energy.

This ring lives in the world of DC Comics and recently found itself on Ryan Reynolds’ finger in the 2011 movie.

'Space Balls,' the Schwartz ring

"Space Balls" was released in 1987 but still remains a cult classic today. This comedy pokes fun at "Star Wars" and introduced the world to the Schwartz ring.

A Schwartz ring is capable of producing beam-like or light saber-like energy used often used for fighting or to control objects.

Phoebe’s rings on 'Friends'

Lisa Kudrow entertained the world for years as Phoebe Buffay on the hit TV show, "Friends." Phoebe is best known for having her own style. She also became a trendsetter for how many rings she wore and how she wore them.

Jimmy Fallon, the wedding ring incident

Late night TV host of the "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" almost lost his finger to due a freak accident in 2015. Fallon told his viewers via Twitter that he slipped at home and almost ripped off his finger.

The Los Angeles Times quoted Fallon, "I tripped and fell in my kitchen on a braided rug that my wife loves and I can't wait to burn it to the ground," Fallon continued. "I tripped and fell and I caught my fall, so I'm getting up and my finger is sideways. So I go, 'Oh my… did I just break my finger?’ This is the lamest thing in the whole wide world. It completely looks fake, it looks like a cheap horror movie where you see a broken finger."

Luckily, Fallon kept his finger.

Marvolo Gaunt’s Ring — Harry Potter

Harry Potter enchanted the world with his story, and a large part of it revolved around the infamous Lord Voldemort and his Horcruxes. Fans were introduced to Marvolo Gaunt’s ring as a Horcrux in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince."

Dumbledore discovered the ring as a Horcrux and explained to Harry it’s significance — a pivotal point in the Potter series.

Beyoncé — 'All the Single Ladies'

Beyoncé is a full-fledged pop star and when her hit song, “All the Single Ladies,” was released, she had listeners everywhere wondering about the ring that should have been on her finger.

“Cause if you liked it then you should have put a ring on it.” Make no mistake, JayZ put a ring on it, and a very large, expensive one at that. (Though her new album, “Lemonade,” may hint that that ring is in danger.)

These rings from pop culture are indeed memorable, although sometimes you need a ring that’s memorable and safe. That’s what Jimmy Fallon discovered. Check out Enso Rings for the safest, most versatile wedding rings.
