SALT LAKE CITY — Several somewhat bizarre things happened in Utah this past week and some residents caught photos of the events.
Thousands of people were affected by Thursday’s power outage along the Wasatch Front. Residents in Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Magna and Tooele were without power for several hours. One man snapped a photo of large flames shooting from the Tesoro Refinery during the blackout.
Several residents also took photos of the lightning during a storm that made headlines after the Angel Moroni statue atop the Bountiful Temple was struck and damaged Sunday afternoon. A few pictures of the damage were also submitted and show part of the statue’s head and back missing.
Other great photos included in this week’s gallery show large hail from a recent storm and an incredible truck fire.
