SALT LAKE CITY — The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently announced the dedication, open house and cultural celebration dates for two temples.

The Trujillo Peru Temple will be dedicated June 21 in three sessions, which will each be broadcast at church meetinghouses in Peru at 9 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. The broadcast will replace the regular three-hour block of church meetings so Latter-day Saints can participate in the dedication, according to a news release.

A free public open house for the Trujillo Temple will take place from May 8 through May 30, excluding Sundays. The open house will be followed by a cultural celebration on June 20.

The temple, which was announced in December 2008, will serve more than 88,000 Latter-day Saints in and around Trujillo.

The Indianapolis Indiana Temple will be dedicated in three sessions Aug. 23. The dedicatory sessions at 9 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. will be broadcast throughout the temple district and will take the place of regular church meetings.

The free public open house, held from July 17 through Aug. 8, excluding Sundays, will be followed by a cultural celebration on Aug. 22.

The temple, which is located in the city of Carmel on the southwest corner of the intersection of West 116th and Spring Mill Road, will serve 25,000 members of the LDS Church.

The two temples will be the 147th and 148th operating temples across the world.
