SALT LAKE CITY — A man was stabbed once, possibly twice, in the abdomen Wednesday night, police said.

The stabbing occurred on 1352 South Edison St. when one man took out a knife during a "heated argument" and stabbed another man, according to Captain John Cardona of the Salt Lake City Police Department.

“There was some kind of an argument over an issue, whatever the issue was,” Cardona said.

Cordona said there were four people in the apartment at the time of the incident, including a small child.

Cordona said the details of the incident were unclear because of conflicting statements about how events transpired.

The victim was taken to the hospital, and police currently have a man in custody, Cardona said.

More information will be posted when it's available.
