Boy injured in hit-and-run accident; police seek information

SALT LAKE CITY — Police are looking for the driver responsible for hitting an 11-year-old boy Saturday night and then taking off.

The incident happened near 800 South and 900 West around 7:30 p.m. The boy who was hit suffered minor injuries and was taken to Primary Children's Hospital for treatment, Salt Lake City police confirmed.

Investigators believe it was a red vehicle that hit the boy, but they don't have any more information.

Anyone with information about the accident or the vehicle involved is asked to contact Salt Lake City police at 801-799-3000.
