PROVO, Utah (AP) — Jake Toolson scored 15 points to lead six other BYU players in double figures as the Cougars routed Division III Southern Virginia on Wednesday night.

Toolson scored his points from beyond the arc, shooting all five of BYU's 3-pointers. Tyler Haws and Isaac Neilson each scored 13 points, Luke Worthington had 12, and Chase Fischer, Dalton Nixon and Anson Winder all finished with 10 points apiece.

The Cougars (3-0) closed out the first half on a 12-0 run to lead 49-22 at the break. BYU shot 54 percent (37 of 68) from the floor but just 5 of 21 (23.8 percent) from three-point range. The Cougars combined for 19 steals.

Preston Eaton led Southern Virginia as the only Knight to score in double figures, finishing with 11 points. The Knights shot 29 percent (18 of 62) from the floor.
