PROVO, Utah (AP) — Chase Fischer scored 19 points, Tyler Haws added 18 with five assists and BYU coasted past Arkansas-Little Rock 91-62 on Tuesday night.
The Cougars shot 53.6 percent from the field and saw 13 players get in on the scoring action. Nate Austin was 4 of 4 with eight points and 11 rebounds.
BYU broke a 21-all tie as Fischer's three-point play ignited a 14-3 run, helping the Cougars take a 37-28 halftime lead. They stormed ahead in the second half as Dalton Nixon's dunk capped a 23-4 surge that made it a 30-point game with 2:23 left.
Fischer was 4 of 7 from the perimeter. Kyle Collinsworth dished out six assists and grabbed eight rebounds for the Cougars (2-0), who totaled 22 assists on 37 baskets.
Roger Woods led the Trojans with 19 points with nine rebounds and James Reid added 10. UALR (1-1) was held to 34.4 percent shooting.
