FEELINGSDOM — Halloween has come and gone which means advertisers have already honed in on Christmas. Look, I like Thanksgiving, too, but it’s all but a forgotten holiday anymore.
Regardless, it’s that time of year that we start seeing more and more commercials centered around Christmas and many of those love to pack an emotional punch.
Those ad execs really enjoy making us cry.
The online shopping site John Lewis rolled out this commercial they call “Monty the Penguin,” and I loved every second of it.
Just watch the commercial to get the whole idea, but suffice it to say, a young boy has a best friend who happens to be a penguin and that automatically makes it adorable.
This may have appealed to me more than some considering my 4-year-old daughter has a stuffed penguin that she constantly has at her side. Therefore, this commercial gave me a swift kick to the feels and I immediately jumped onto JohnLewis.com and bought stuff I didn’t need with money I don’t have.
Anyway, enjoy this time of year and get ready to be moved as you watch Monty the Penguin.
