HOLLYWOOD — NBC's digital team helped a man propose to his girlfriend using her friends, family and 40 professional dancers in an epic lip-sync, all to promote the new NBC show “Marry Me.”
The heartwarming video has already garnered almost 2 million views on YouTube and starts out with Bret's girlfriend Jovan sitting down to lunch with her friend. The friend quickly disappears to “use the restroom” and camera operators start swarming Jovan as Sheppard's “Geronimo” starts to play.
After Jovan's friends and family from across the country appear, Bret and 40 professional dancers dance while he lip-syncs the song to his girlfriend. Fortunately for him, following the big public spectacle, Jovan says “yes.”
“I just really want to thank NBC's 'Marry Me' for making this happen, the fact that we could fly her family out and that I could propose to her in the way that I always felt would be special for her,” Bret said at the end of the video. “I want her to remember this for the rest of her life, and now we've had that chance and opportunity and I'm just so grateful.”
NBC's digital team set up the proposal as part of the social media campaign to promote "Marry Me," which premieres Tuesday at 9 p.m. EDT.
