MAESER, Uintah County— A building that houses a dance studio and a home décor store were damaged by fire Monday night in Maeser.
People inside the dance studio called emergency dispatchers about 8:15 p.m. to report the fire at 2488 W. 500 North, according to Uintah County Fire District Director Jeremy Raymond.
Volunteer firefighters with the Uintah County-Vernal Fire Department reached the scene within 10 minutes, Raymond said. They found the fire still contained to the attic above the dance studio. They were able to put the fire out quickly, but Raymond estimated the damages at between $80,000 and $100,000.
The fire was caused by an electrical problem in the attic, Raymond said. No injuries were reported.
