GOOD BOY TOWN — If you bring your dog up right, you have a friend, helper and sometimes savior for life. And your dog may not just be saving you, but all creatures great and small.
According to Rumble Viral, a dog named Jax recently became the personal hero to one small bird. Jax and his owner noticed a bird (but not a baby bird as the video suggests) struggling to stay afloat in a lake, so Jax jumped into the lake to retrieve the distressed bird.
Working in an obviously great partnership, Jax’s owner talks the dog to the shore while encouraging Jax to be “easy” with the bird. The dog dutifully and carefully brings the the bird to his owner and gently sets it down close enough to shore so his owner can tag team the rescue by plucking the bird out of the water.
After Jax gets well-deserved “good boy” praise from his owner, he seems unimpressed with his own heroism and starts sniffing around for a new adventure. But that’s what you want in a hero, right? A dog who isn’t in it for the fame.
No word on the condition of the bird. But once the bird dried out and calmed down, it certainly had a fighting chance, thanks to Jax.
