BIG WATER, Kane County — Two men died in a head-on collision on U.S. 89 Saturday, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
Jay Russell, 53, of Page, Arizona, was driving his Acura north about 8 miles from Big Water at 12:55 p.m. when he drifted into the southbound lane and struck a Honda Civic driven by 78-year-old Richard Nutt of Douglas, Georgia, UHP said.
Russell and Nutt both died of their injuries, according to UHP. Russell was not wearing his seat belt while Nutt was.
UHP does not know what caused Russell to drift into the southbound lane.
No one else was traveling with Russell or Nutt at the time of the crash.
