LAS VEGAS (AP) — Democratic lieutenant governor candidate Lucy Flores is planning 24 straight hours of campaign events in an effort to push more Nevada voters to the polls.

The 20-stop blitz is set to begin at 8 a.m. with a visit to members of the Culinary Union, then continue with visits to two colleges and businesses such as Cardenas Supermarket, Tacos El Gordo and Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapels.

It culminates with a cake at campaign headquarters at 7:30 a.m. Friday, which is Flores' birthday.

Flores' campaign manager, Kristina Hagen, says no sleep is scheduled into the tour, which is meant to introduce Flores to voters who don't show up at typical campaign events.

It comes as Democrats trail Republicans in early voting turnout, even though the state has more registered Democrats.
