OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Kyle Michalik and Seth Kinker combined to throw 6 1/3 scoreless innings of relief as Ohio State advanced to the Big 10 Conference Tournament championship game with a 7-3 win over Michigan State on Sunday.
The fourth-seeded Buckeyes (42-18-1) will face Iowa in the championship game later on Sunday.
Michalik (3-1) earned the win in relief of starter Austin Woodby, allowing four hits over 2 2/3 scoreless innings. Kinker then capped the win for Ohio State with a perfect 3 2/3 innings on the mound to earn his second save of the season.
Troy Montgomery was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Buckeyes, while Dan Durkin led the Spartans (36-20) with three hits and two RBIs.
Dakota Mekkes (3-2) took the loss for Michigan State.
