PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — The Latest on the death of a black man after a struggle with police in Pasadena, California (all times local):
9 p.m.
About 100 people are marching through the streets of Pasadena, California, to protest the death of a black man who died there after a struggle with police.
They began marching at the apartment building where Reginald Thomas was killed Friday morning and are slowly making their way through the city's crowded Old Town district on their way to the police department.
The protesters have been very peaceful.
Authorities haven't released Thomas's name, but friends identified him.
Los Angeles County sheriff's officials say he was armed with a knife when struggled with police officers, who used a Taser on him.
After he was handcuffed, police noticed Thomas, who was the father of eight children, wasn't breathing. Both officers and paramedics tried to revive him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Capt. Steve Katz tells the Pasadena Star-News (http://bit.ly/2dBThfG) a struggle between Pasadena officers and a black man that resulted in his death started after officers were called to an apartment early Friday because of a disturbance report.
Katz says the officers used a Taser and then physical force to subdue the man. Katz says that when the man was handcuffed he went into distress and the officers attempted CPR but he died at the scene.
Authorities were first called by someone reporting a disturbance at 2 a.m.
Katz says another disturbance call minutes later reported the man had a knife and a fire extinguisher and may be under the influence of drugs.
Katz says three people were in the residence when officers arrived and the struggle ensued as they tried to take the man into custody.
He denied a witness report that officers used batons on the man.

Los Angeles County homicide detectives are investigating the death of a black man in Pasadena, and a witness says it occurred after a struggle with police.
A sheriff's statement says the death of the unidentified man occurred about 2 a.m. Friday but gives no details.
Shainie Lindsay tells KTLA-TV the man was the father of her children, bi-polar and had called police for help.
She says he had a knife and fire extinguisher, and did not respond to officers' orders to put them down because "he was out of it."
She says police used a stun gun on him twice. He dropped the extinguisher but a struggle followed with officers using batons and kicks to subdue him.
Officers tried to resuscitate him but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
