ALLENDALE, Mich. (AP) — Grand Valley State University's Performing Arts Center will get an addition and renovations, with the university set to spend $20 million.
The Grand Rapids Press (http://bit.ly/1NHs1br ) reports trustees approved the project Friday. The work is set to start next week and be done in August 2017.
The facility on the Allendale campus near Grand Rapids was constructed in 1971, and the project will be the facility's fifth addition.
The addition measuring two stories and 44,000 square feet will include a black box theater with seating for roughly 140 people, two theater classrooms and new space for students to study.
