Woman killed in hit-and-run in Las Vegas identified

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities have identified an elderly woman killed after she was struck by a car while crossing a Las Vegas street.

KTNV-TV in Vegas reports (http://bit.ly/1Nk397t) the Clark County coroner says 72-year-old Elsa Maria Aguila-Salgado was killed in a hit-and-run Friday afternoon.

The coroner did not identify her city of residence.

Authorities say the incident happened on Nellis Boulevard near Mohave Avenue.

According to police, Aguila-Salgado was walking across the street outside of a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a Ford Explorer.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver did not stay at the scene or call authorities.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

The death marks the 105th traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas.
