HERRIMAN, Utah (AP) — Police say a man has been arrested in Herriman for aggravated assault after allegedly beating up his sister's boyfriend.

Unified police say officers were called to a home around 1 a.m. Saturday and found the 25-year-old victim lying in the street.

The victim was hospitalized but then flown to another hospital in critical condition.

According to investigators, the victim and his girlfriend got into an argument which turned physical.

They say the girlfriend called her brother, 24-year-old Cole Pedersen, to come pick her up.

Pedersen, who lives in another city, arrived but then returned sometime later with her.

A fight between both men ensued.

Pedersen allegedly hit the victim in the face multiple times causing him to fall to the ground.

It wasn't known if Pedersen had an attorney.
