CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — A school in Natrona County has been closed down because of chemical odors thought to be coming from a nearby oil field.

Officials with Natrona County School District 1 say the Midwest School will finish the last few days of the school year at another school in Casper. Midwest School has grades K-12 and about 150 students.

KTWO radio in Casper reports (http://bit.ly/1qOCQxz ) the school has been closed since Wednesday when gas odors were detected.

The company that runs the nearby Salt Creek oil field says it is working to contain and seal a leak.

Texas-based FDL Operating says it is closely monitoring the situation and investigating any additional source of the gas and odors in its field.
