BEVERLY HILLS, Mich. (AP) — Three teams of Detroit-area high school students will present business plan ideas as part of a competition that emphasizes teamwork, innovative thinking, conflict resolution and leadership.
The Indus Entrepreneurs — TiE — Young Entrepreneurs program will be held Friday evening at Detroit Country Day School's Upper School Student Center in Beverly Hills.
The winning team will receive $1,000 to help further its members' entrepreneurship ideas. It also will compete next month in Atlanta for $10,000 against students from other chapters.
TiE Global is a nonprofit organization that fosters entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs and mentors coach students through a business-focused curriculum in the 9-month program.
Detroit program chair Seema Chaturvedi says it "is helping develop the next generation of leaders."
