CACHE COUNTY — An injured man was rescued Friday evening after he rolled his ATV in Millville Canyon.

Brad Franke, 45, of Mendon was riding his ATV in the canyon with friends when his vehicle hit a rock and began to roll, according to a news release from the Cache County Sheriff’s Office. His friends called 911 just after 5:30 p.m.

Due to the extent of Franke’s injuries, the county’s search and rescue team was called to help get him out of the canyon.

“it’s been reported that he possibly has internal injuries along with leg and chest injuries and arm injuries,” said Chief Deputy Brian Locke, with the Cache County Sheriff’s Office.

When they reached Franke, rescuers carried him three-fourths of a mile to a place where a Life Flight helicopter could land. Frank was then airlifted to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden in stable condition, Locke said.

An update on Franke’s condition was not available Friday night.
