Summer is not just heating, but burning up fast in Utah, and kids are getting crazy being home all day long. The common words may come out of those sweet little mouths, “I’m bored.” Well families should not despair; there are many adventures to be had. Here is an awesome list that is friendly to the purse and full of entertainment so the kids’ “I’m bored” goes away.
1. Cowabunga Bay
Just driving into Cowabunga Bay in Draper is enough to make kids get wildly excited. The colorful wonder has 12 levels of bridges and tunnels, a 1,500 gallon bucket of water that really makes a splash, a beach area, and of course amazing water slides, according to its website. It is great for all ages but be prepared, it doesn’t allow outside food. Food services are offered in the park. See the deal.
2. Salt Lake County Fair
South Jordan is the home to the Salt Lake County Fair from August 6th through the 9th. Their website says that “kids of all ages can get involved in all kinds of entertainment, including one of the best carnivals around. There are many hands-on educational activities (most are free!)" 4. Paintball Tickets
Tweens and teenagers usually have the opposite of the younger kids’ schedules, thus making summers even busier. Nothing says quality time like parents and their children shooting eachother with paintballs (Built up frustration, anyone?). The truth is, it's a great opportunity to bond with your teen on a different level. Paintball Addicts in South Salt Lake and Utah Xtreme Paintball in Midvale offer a great time for the older kids and adults. See the deal.
5. Get Air Sports
It may be the kind of day that the kids need to get wiggles out. This will fix wiggles like no other place. Get Air Sports in Roy is a trampoline center that also offers dodge ball courts, Aeroball courts, AirJam basketball and a section for the little kids, according to their website. Whether it's an impromptu hang out or a planned event, catching big air will keep the family happy. Just a heads up — parents need to be present to sign waivers for their kids or use the online option. See the deal.
6. Jungle Jim's Summer Bash Passes
Located in Midvale, Jungle Jim's offers the family a whole slew of entertainment. Tailored to younger kids — toddler to age 11 — it has seven amusement park style rides. The fun doesn't stop there though, Jungle Jim's allows adults to ride with their children and no extra cost. Making the experience much more engaging for adults and kids alike, none the less at a 45 percent discount. See the deal.
