SOUTH OGDEN — Three people, including a father and son, have been arrested in connection with pharmacy robberies in Utah and Idaho.

Three people robbed the Walgreen’s pharmacy at 255 36th Street in South Ogden of Oxycontin on April 30, according to Lt. Dwight Ruth of the South Ogden Police Department.

Investigators reviewed video from the store and identified a suspect as 23-year-old Mitchel Christensen of Buhl, Idaho. They believed Christensen was involved in similar pharmacy robberies in Idaho. They said Christensen brandished a gun during the most recent robbery, in Blackfoot, Idaho.

Christensen was arrested June 14 in Twin Falls, Idaho, and booked into the Twin Falls County Jail on an unrelated warrant.

Police said upon questioning, Christensen confessed to pharmacy robberies in Utah and Idaho. The latest one in Utah happened in Draper on June 10, Ruth said.

Two more suspects, Dana Merrick 38, and a 17-year-old juvenile, both from the Twin Falls area, were also arrested. The Associated Press identified the teen as Merrick’s son. The two were booked into the Twin Falls County Jail for investigation of robbery, and conspiracy to commit robbery, in relation to crimes in Twin Falls, Ruth said.

The Weber County Attorney’s Office was pursuing arrest warrants for the trio in relation to the South Ogden robbery, according to Ruth.
