SOUTH SALT LAKE — South Salt Lake police are searching for a man who smashed out doors at two stores overnight.

The first incident happened just before midnight. Someone broke through the doors at Rite Aid on 635 East and 3300 South. The intruder went to the pharmacy but the door was locked. He was not able to take anything.

About 15 minutes later, someone robbed the Texaco at 315 East and 3900 South.

Police said a man broke out the door, took some cigarettes and left. They believe the same person is responsible for both crimes and released a surveillance photo.

Anyone who recognizes the man should contact police.
